Great Blog Posts About Events and Behavior

Many women have been shaking their heads at the way people have been behaving at recent professional events, not limited to Affiliate Summit. Karen Garcia did a great post about the Bikini Babes that showed up, and now this post by Jen Goode covers some more behavior.

I think I will be writing something as well, because as a woman at industry events, or as an attendee in general, there appears to be a lot of "line crossing" and assumptions that are being made.

The really big point is to remember that your behavior at industry events leaves a lasting impression on the people that you want to work with. As Karen says in her article, I'm not a prude, but there are more things crossing the line.

If people become uncomfortable being around you in person - they aren't going to be willing to work with you online either.

I have to agree... especially when I walked by the area where Pareto (I think) had the nice Ducati motorcycle and was attempting to get those bikini babes onto the bike for a picture... it just screamed "Adolescent male fantasy" happening before my eyes...

I haven't posted my recap of summit yet as I'm still working on it, but for fear that it's too long I glossed over the bikini babes... maybe now I will write a longer, separate post about it.

Trisha, that sounds like a good idea. Separating the topics will have more impact in the long run.
