Added some features to discourage spam

I'm added some restrictions to registered users that just register to get a profile page in the SERPs. There is a captcha image for new users, and no signature allowed. Once someone has posted a few times, preferably with an intro post as well, we can move them to a "normal" user group that has signature rights.

So come on in and talk to us, once we know you aren't a bot or a spammer we'd love to have you aboard

Sounds like a good move, thanks for keeping out the riff raff!

Cool. Can you also make that Usergroup have more privileges like a bigger avatar, more PM space, etc.? I can tell you how to do it if you wish.

We are new enough that those issues haven't been a problem yet. And the images are set to be larger, but it seems the people that use Facebook Connect have larger avatars. This forum is new, but I do have a lot of forum experience

Hmm I see David's avatar is mysteriously small like mine... now I'll have to use the Facebook thing to get a properly sized avatar lol.

Yeah, I believe it's because the FB images are not being hosted by this forum, so the dimention specifications are in effect. However, the other setting that affects the avatar is the storage space size in bytes. Since it is set to 200 bytes, the script sizes down the uploaded avatar until it is only 200 bytes. (That's .2 kb)

I increased the sizes and didn't see that tiny number when I went through permissions, so it has been way increased now!
